Playing Dungeons and Dragons sounds like fun, and it is, but you have to ask yourself a few questions
Who do I know that plays?
Do I, or they, know anyone who can run a game?
Do we play in person or can I play online?
Those are just the starter questions.
If you want to play in person, I recommend contacting your local games/comics store to see if anyone plays dnd or any rpgs there in the store. I run a game just about every weekend at my local store.
The next place I’d call is your local library. There are clubs popping up all over as well as game days held at local libraries.
Store games and library games are usually free.
If you want to play online, check out StartPlaying.com. There are games going on there for every day of the week and at every time of day.
Just click on Find Games and there will be a host of games scheduled. Some games are free, some are inexpensive and some are…well…a little costly for my taste.
I should also mention that I am a paid DM and have several games listed on my Start Playing page if you’re interested.
I came up with the idea of running short, inexpensive games on Thursday nights in April, called Lair Days because I think there’s a group of people who’d like to get their gaming weekend started early or maybe are just busy on the weekends.
So, to make that feasible I created some inexpensive sessions I am calling Lair-Days.
Lair-Day are the new Thursdays where you can
play online
play a quick, fast paced 2 hour game
jumped right to a lair that needs to be investigated and/or cleaned out
I decided Lairs-Days would be like episodic tv with a group of adventurers belonging to a guild or faction that are hired them to do jobs no one else wants.
Kind of like The A-Team
or The Librarians
Some of my lairs include
A band of cut throats need a dealing with (3rd Level)
revenge cannot remain captive in this decaying zoo (4th Level)
If this is something that would be of interest to you, in invite you to check out any of the games and ask any questions if you have them.
Have an awesome day!
