Three sisters are trying to maintain and protect their farm while their husbands, members of the local militia, The Righteous Dogs, are out fighting the evils The Hexing has unleashed.
Mary Lightfare is the oldest sister with mysterious powers, The Seed of Mystery
Gwen Lightfare is the doctor, The Seed of Healing
Adira Lightfare is a former prisoner (of who?) who knows how to protect the farm in the most vicious of ways, The Seed of Violence.
These three sisters are a result of my latest run through of the newest issue of my Crit Happens #7 Hex Crawl of Horror: The Survivors.
Here are some other things that materialized as I roll on over 15 d12 tables.
The three sisters have 5 kids between them, with Adira having no kids and Gwen having 2 kids and Mary having 3 kids.
Before The Hexing, the 3 sisters and their husbands Ajax (married to Mary), Orion (married to Gwen) and Aiden (married to Adira) built a bunker beneath the barn in case of a storm or an invasion of enemy forces.
It is in this bunker that they store food, water, medical supplies and weapons.
In a few instance they have had to fight for their farm, even before The Hexing, using psychological warfare. Adira with her demoralizing and debilitating traps and Mary with her mystical ability to create illusions of fear and discomfort.
Although they will fight you to the death should you threaten them, they will welcome you and share their table should you show yourself friendly.
They share an optimism passed on by their parents that any bad thing can be turned for good with the right amount of leverage.
The sisters are active traders with neighbors and other survivor groups (TBD). They also have rivals (TBD) who plot to take their farm and all their goods, but those who have tried are missing vital body parts, teeth and any desire to try again.
Mary’s wasn’t Hex Touched, her powers, still not fully developed, are innate are of a mysterious origin.
Gwen and Adira, on the other hand, were touched by the explosion of magic, the result of the tampering Witches of the Blackened Earth.
Gwen received empath powers. She can feel what others are feeling to point, that if she is touching them, she can see what is causing those feeling. In addition, she can infuse emotion in others using that same touch bringing about anger, fear and sadness should she desire.
Using these powers, over time (up to 3 times a day) weakens her physically and spiritually and requires her to rest at least four hours until she is restored.
Adira can turn invisible at will but every time she does, she craves more magic and power, something the witches themselves craved. Using her ability too often presents strong temptations for her to leave the farm and search for magic items or artifacts.
Her invisibility assists her with setting traps but if she were to strike another, it would reveal her presence.
They only have one magic item on the farm and it is a scroll of Earth Elemental. When the scroll is read, an Earth Elemental is drawn together using the red clay, rock and dirt of the farm and will protect the land from all intruders (6 rounds)
The Righteous Dogs militia patrol their city and its borders to ensure that none of the evil unleashed will prevail in their small town, but there are dangers that lurk within their borders.
Should you happen upon the Sister of the Seed’s farm, I’d advise you to come with an open hand and something to trade, because if you bring trouble to their farm or to their families, that will likely be your last visit.
What do think of this latest Survivor Group, are they someone who might fit into your setting?
If you are wanting to create your own Survivor Group you can purchase the Crit Happens #7 here or as a part of the Hex Crawl Bundle.
Wow The Sisters sound awesome! What a great creation.
