I made some big (dare I say, insane) rpg goals for 2023. I wanted to run 22 different RPG systems/worlds. Why? Because I was tired of staring at them on my shelf, feeling like I had abandoned them to the rpg void.
If you want to see all the games I wanted to run, here’s the video,
So, how many new games did I run in 2023 out of 22? 3. Yep, 3.
I ran Esper Genesis the 5e SciFi game and it was a hit with my group; so much so it became the game we played all year.
The second new game I played was not even on my list, it was Deathbringer by Professor Dungeon Master. I wanted to run it but I needed a reason, that’s when I received a call to create an after school dnd club I dubbed Questers and decided that the rules light system would be perfect for this middle school group.
The third new game I ran in 2023 was Pathfinder 2e. I got back into the rpg hobby because of Pathfinder 1e and am still currently playing in a 1e campaign, Against The Giants.
I ran the adventure Trouble in Otari with one of my groups and it was a lot of fun. They enjoyed the 3 action economy and the plethora of character options they had to choose from.
If you’d like to give Pathfinder2e a try you can check out this game on my Start Playing page.
So, what are my plans for 2024? I am far less ambitious this year but I am also unapologetic for last years unreasonable goals. I am choosing to run 3 DND settings and 3 new game systems. What are they? Stay tuned.
