Fury: The Lone Survivor
Anti-Heroes In The Wasteland
I, occasionally, like to live dangerously, so this past Saturday I went live on my YT Channel (video below) and made a survivor group from the latest issue of my Crit Happens Zine #7 The Survivors from my Hex Crawl of Horror series and this is what I rolled up.
Starting with the first of 20 d12 tables, I rolled for the size of survivor group, to see what I’d be working with.
I came up with a survivor group of one. A lone wolf much like Michonne from The Walking Dead, an anti-hero. I also rolled to see the makeup of the group and it came up Matriarchy, so a strong independent woman.
I named her Fury.
Here’s what I know, and now you will know, about Fury.
strong personality
silent leader (action more than words)
is hold up at a monastery, possibly that of her deity as she is monotheistic and serves a benevolent, shepherding, protecting god.
has symbiotic relationships, she trades with different survivor groups for different things.
She is immune to the plague. What plague? We don’t know what kind of plague but she is being hunted to see if she is the cure for others.
She is a calvary person. She rides a rhino.
She has a bow but she is better with her flail.
She is cynical and distrustful. (maybe a jaded Cleric)
She is in a “forces alliance” with another Survivor Group possibly because was kicked out of the group but still feels indebted to bringing them resources.
She has a hatred for marauders (but who doesn’t?)
She is an explorer, looking for something. A relic, maybe a weapon, maybe magic. Maybe something for this for this for this survivor group in which she is in servitude.
She has some sort of pact magic. She doesn't have a lot of spells, but she has a couple and they are of abjuration school. They are mostly wards, etc.
She has a talisman, which is the source of her power.
This character, archetype, would fit in great with any system agnostic OSR game.
